Fun Project for My Running Group

About 4 years ago i joined FIT (Friends in Training).
I will not go into details about FIT, but i just want to say that without their love and support I would not complete one single marathon. Never.

Now, 4 years, 3 marathons, 7 half marathons and many many 5 and 10 K’s later, I decided that it’s time to pay it forward.

Since FIT had a very old and not user-friendly website, and developing sites is my passion, I decided to give them new site.

This was my most fun project so far. There was no pressure of ROI, SERPs or Affiliates. Just pure fun.

Since I wanted to be able to choose out of many designs, I decided to post a design contest.

When you hold a contest, you get the most world talents working for you. The response was great.

I had 30+ designers participated in the contest.

Marcela (FIT’s owner) choose the final design which reflects bright Florida colors of the beach where we run every Saturday.

The new site had to be CMS and I choose Drupal.

I really wanted to use my favorite worpress but decided in Drupal favor since wordpress lack many complicated features that Drupal provides.

New site lounge was a huge success. Everyone loved it.

I am so happy and humbled that i was able to work on this project.
